What surprised me about Paris

All my friends told me how much I will hate Paris. All I ever heard before leaving was how dirty Paris is, how unfriendly the people are, and how disappointed I will be about the Eiffel Tower and the other monuments.

It turns out that my perception of Paris is completely different. I absolutely loved every piece of it! I don’t know if it is because of the low expectations I had about this city but it doesn’t even matter! I simple fell in love with Paris at first sight.

You can read more about why you should visit Paris here.

It might have been the streets, with their beautiful facades. Getting lost in one city has never been so pleasant as it has been in Paris.

Or maybe I just loved the relaxing atmosphere with people chilling in the sun on benches while smoking their cigarettes.

Oh, I know! It was the majestic Eiffel Tower which was taller than I ever expected. And the view from Trocadero, oh my god! Check out Penelope’s post about the most beautiful places in Paris.

No, no, no. The people were the most important! One lady even lost her train to help us get directions and a man who saw we were kind of lost asked us out of the blue if we need help with directions. Can it get any better than that?

Yes, it can. Nothing beats the French pastries. Macaroons, croissants, you name it!

Do you still believe that Paris is a bad idea? Pack your bags and go! It will surprise you in so many ways that you will definitely want to go back. Just eat one macaroon for me, please!
