This track will take you primarily through the forest reaching up to speeds of 50 km/h, and the total descent lasts for around eight minutes. You can either hop on by yourself or tackle the coaster in two as long as you don’t weigh over 150 kg together.

This includes the Palm Recreation Area, several pool bars, a wave pool, and a variety of awesome lounges. There are lots of them scattered throughout the country but Wegloo is a fantastic option! It’s situated in Azuga and has direct access to a ski slope, an on-site restaurant, and a bar. There’s also a shared lounge on the property and a garden area!

When planning your Winter holiday in Romania, don’t miss out on the Libearty Bear Sanctuary! Unfortunately, it was a common thing to see bears used in circuses or as pets and public attractions back in the 1990s. 

However, one woman decided to do better and it became her life mission to rescue these bears (and ones from abroad) and allow them to live out the rest of their lives in peace. This sanctuary is now home to over 100 rescued bears, and they have over 69 hectares of land to roam around. 

19. Explore Oradea and admire its Art Nouveau buildings

Located in Northwest Romania, Oradea is just 13 km (8 miles) from the Hungarian border and has a lot to offer. It’s considered to be one of the best Art Nouveau destinations in Europe and once you get here it’s not hard to see why!

Boasting plenty of striking historic buildings, you won’t be short of places to visit but there are three spots that you NEED to see. These are the Black Eagle Palace, The Darvaș-La Roche House, and Moskovits Miksa Palace.

Transport in Romania

1. Uber 

Uber is now available in 20 cities in Romania and is a handy way to get around. You don’t have to haggle as the price will be shown on your app, and that means you can’t be ripped off either. 

However, if you’re looking to get around by taxi outside of the cities then your best bet is a maxi taxi.

2. In Bucharest – the subway 

Bucharest is the capital of Romania and it’s the only city in the country with a subway system. If you’re planning to stay in this city (which you should) then the metro is by far the easiest way to get around.

It covers a distance of around 70 km (43 miles) and there are four lines in total; M1 (the yellow line), M2 (the blue line), M3 (the red line), and M4 (the green line). There are around 60 stations at the minute but the subway is currently being expanded! 

3. Train

Traveling by train is one of the best ways to get around Romania if you plan to use public transport. 

There are stations in nearly every town or city so you’ll be able to visit all the major attractions easily enough. Tickets are extremely cheap, and the timetables are displayed at the train stations and online so you can plan your visit. 

If you’re doing a longer journey, then there are ‘sleeper trains’ where you’ll get your own bed.

4. Rent a car

Renting a car is the best way to get around Romania in winter as you won’t be subject to any delays or timetables. However, just keep in mind that you’ll need winter tires for safety.

Either way, hiring a car gives you the ultimate flexibility over your trip and allows you to visit areas that aren’t covered by public transport.
