When we visited this historic site we chose to visit it by tuk tuk and it was the best decision ever. We had an entire day to explore Angkor Wat and it was enough to see the main temples and admire them. During the rest of our time in Siem Reap we visited the incredible Kampong Phluk Floating Village.

The tuk tuk driver will pick you up from your accommodation, wait for you in front of each of the temples and drop you off back to your accommodation.
It’s affordable
The price for booking a tuk tuk driver to explore Angkor Wat for one day ranges between $15 and $21. If you only want to see the temples, the price is $15. However, you will have to additionally pay $3 for sunset or sunrise. Usually, tuk tuk drivers will try to ask for more but don’t forget to always negotiate the price!

Finding the perfect Angkor Wat tuk tuk driver, will make or break your experience. This is why you need to be careful when choosing one. Read below to find out what you need to be careful about.

Ask around
You will see that most of hotels/ hostels offer overpriced Angkor Wat tuk tuk tours. This is why the best way to find a tuk tuk driver for your Angkor Wat visit is by yourself.
The only thing you need to do is ask a few drivers if they are doing Angkor Wat tours. You will see that most of them will be happy to be your guide. However, do not forget to ask for the price and negotiate it. If the first offer is too high ($25) or more, I would definitely go and ask another driver.Look for an honest, friendly, English speaking guide
One of the most important things is that your driver speaks English. You will need to agree on how much time you will be spending at each of the temples and where he is going to wait for you. If he has a poor command of English, it will be difficult to agree on the small things.

- Luxury – Angkor Village Resort – awesome pool, good location, luxurious rooms, great breakfast, excellent amenities
